Rick + Karen are getting married!

Karen and I have been friends since 5th grade. We were in band together. (Go woodwinds!) We attend the same church. I have lost track of the number of sleepovers we've had. We attended the same school from 7th grade to graduation. And now, we are both getting married. Boy...do I feel old!

Karen and I have had countless conversations about boys. We've talked about who we had crushes on when we were little. Our ideas of the perfect guy. What we were looking for in a husband. And now we have both found the men we're going to spend the rest of our lives with. Karen, I can't imagine anyone more perfect for you than Rick.

Rick is great. He's happened to be best friends with Philip since childhood. He is sincere, but goofy. Calm but hilarious and witty, all at the same time. And he makes Karen laugh a lot.

This is one of my favorite shoots to date! I can't wait for their wedding. It is Saturday. As in 3 days!

My Not So Little Brother

I can hardly believe my youngest brother will be graduating high school this June.  It seems like just yesterday I was waiting at the hospital with my Aunt Paulina (she's one of those adopted aunts we all have) to see my new sibling.  I could hardly wait. I wanted a sister so badly!  But it turned out I got a third brother.  That didn't stop me from putting him in my baby cradle and dressing him up in my dress up clothes.  I have pictures to prove it, but I'll save those for another day.

Thankfully, he's grown into a handsome young man, despite my efforts to turn him into my sister.  He is incredibly intelligent.  He is currently head to head with a friend for valedictorian of his class.  We had a lot of fun taking his pictures despite it being a chilly day.

Our dog Tinker.  We just love him!

Willow trees...one of my favorite things.

What a stud.

Autumn Fields

I have known Kimberly since she was about 5 years old.  One of the things I remember most about her at that young age was her long, long hair.  She once got a bee tangled in it and had to have her sister get it out! I never would have thought that I would be taking her senior portraits.

She has grown into a beautiful young woman.  The morning of her shoot had the most beautiful light!
Love this windmill!
I can't help but enjoy the gorgeous autumn colors.
Kimberly has been learning the guitar over the last year and is pretty good!
She is very musically talented.  She is the drum major of the
Redford Union High School marching band!
While in this field, we found a huge praying mantis (like the size of my hand)!
Thank you for letting me take your portraits Kimberly! It was a blast!
