Philip and I are Engaged!

I have a very exciting announcement! Philip and I are now engaged!

I know you are all dying to hear how it happened so read on!

This past weekend I took a trip with Philip's family up north to Harbor Springs to visit his aunt and uncle.  They live on a beeeautiful golf course! Little did I know I would be be dating Philip when I left and engaged when I returned! While we were there, we had a special stop to make. 

One of Philip's employees owns a beach house right on Lake Michigan, only about 15 minutes from his Aunt and Uncle. They rent it out to people for vacations and getaways and such.  Philip and I had thought about possibly, one day very far away of course, renting the house and getting married there on the beach. We decided that while we were in the area, we would stop by to take a look at it and see what it was like.  On Saturday, we drove over and toured the house and I loved it!  After we had finished, Philip wanted to take a walk on the beach, which I would never turn down since I love the beach!

We took our time and just talked for awhile and enjoyed the peacefulness.  It was such a beautiful day. We walked out to a point and Philip wanted to keep going to the next point which was about half a mile away!  I was like umm...maybe we shouldn't go that far.  He said, "ok, well why don't you sit on that rock and take a rest." I thought this was a little strange  and I didn't really need a rest, but agreed.  So we sat for a bit and talked.  He started talking about funny things that happened when we were first dating along with all the things we've been through together.  

Before I knew it, Philip was telling me that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me.  Next he got down on his knee, looked up at me and asked me to marry him! I was excited! I was in shock! My heart was pounding! And I said YES! I hugged him and then I just couldn't stop jumping up and down. 

Oh ya, and the ring? It's GORGEOUS!

This is where my life changed forever!

Yes, I realize my eyes are closed, and I am so mad! But we were alone and so I had my camera on the steps on a timer and this is the only one that was in focus! grrrr!

Philip got me this beautiful jewelry box awhile ago.

I am so blessed to be able to spend the rest of my life with such an amazing man and I cannot wait to marry him!!!
